US Latvian Business Forum (USLBF) Connected Latvian Companies and Officials With American Businesses

Today, September 19th, 2022 took place the first US Business Latvian Forum (USLBF) in New York City. The event was focused on Americas capital markets. The Forum was welcomed by Latvian Ambassador to the US, Maris Selga and Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics. The Forum was organized in conjunction with the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The Latvian Investment Agency (LIAA) US representative, Reinis Sipols gave overview of Latvia’s economy and investment environment figures.

The presenters Shearman & Sterling Partners Ilir Mujalovic, Americas Capital Markets Team Leader, Harald Halbhuber, Americas Capital Markets and George Karafotias, M&A Group provided key considerations for successful transactions with U.S. investors.

Latvian companies had the opportunity to introduce themselves and connect to experts and potential partners for collaboration.

The event was co-organized together with the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), BaltAm LLC and Latvian American Chamber of Commerce. Moderator John Kancans, President of BaltAm LLC.

The main goal of the event was to strengthen transatlantic cooperation, especially in economy.
