A High-Level Discussion On Energy Security Featuring H.E. Gitanas Nauseda, President of the Republic of Lithuania

The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center and the Embassy of Lithuania in the U.S. hosted a high-level discussion on energy security featuring H.E. Gitanas Nauseda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, and Ambassador Richard L. Morningstar, Founding Chairman, Global Energy Center, Atlantic Council; former U.S. Ambassador to the EU, at the Consulate General of Lithuania in New York on September 21, 2022.  

Over 50 participants attended the lively event, which also served as the launch for the Council's new report, "Bolstering Energy Security in Northeastern Europe through Transatlantic Cooperation."

Lithuanian Ambasador to the U.S. Audra Plepyte welcomed attendees to the event. In addition, the discussion included a panel with: Ms. Daiva Garbaliauskaite, Vice-Minister for Energy for the Republic of Lithuania; the Hon. Geoffrey Pratt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources at the U.S. Department of State; Steven Kobos, President and Chief Executive Officer, Excelerate Energy; and Mr. Algis Latakas, Chief Executive Officer, Klaipeda Sea Port.  

The discussions were organized in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week 2022 (UNGA77).

The event was supported by the New York-based Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), whose mission is to support and strengthen business and economic ties between the Baltic States and the U.S.
