World Latvian Economics and Innovation Forum (WLEIF)

The forum will focus on the nation branding and strategic communication, education, business, talent attraction, and will explore the business opportunities in some of the largest and most compelling markets including the U.S., Canada, Asia and the Nordic countries.

On November 21st four panel discussions will be featured themed as follows:
(1) The story of Latvia we tell ourselves and the world, moderated by Andris Rubins, Managing Partner of DDB Latvia;
(2) Education as the driving force for the future economy, moderated by TV3 news anchor and journalist Arnis Krauze;
(3) Latvia? What to tell your business partners, moderated by journalist and commentator Pauls Raudseps;
(4) Attracting and retaining talent in Latvia, moderated by Zane Culkstena, Managing Director of ERDA Group.

Among panelists will be public and private sector experts and successful business people including Andris K. Berzins (Change Ventures), Janis Bergs (SAF Tehnika), Kristine Grapmane (Stenders), Aivars Flemings (VALPRO), Ingrida Karina-Berzina (COBALT, AmCham), Artis Kehris (Printify), Ralfs Nemiro (Minister of Economy), Agnese Lace (Providus), Janis Oslejs (Primekss Group), Zane Olina (Skola 2030), Vita Timermane-Moora (Latvian Institute) and many others.

During the 1st day of the forum The Red Jackets Awards will be presented to the best exporting brands of Latvia. Egils Levits, President of Latvia will be the guest of honor of the Awards ceremony. The ceremony will be led by Inese Andersone (The Red Jackets), Zanda Kalnina-Lukasevica (Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Anna Fisere-Kalke (Citadele banka). Association With Global experience in Latvia will provide a special networking platform for Latvian business people and professionals around the globe.

On November 22nd there will be practical workshops about business opportunities in markets such as the U.S., Canada, Asia and the Nordic countries. Best practices will be shared by experienced business people including Janis Bergs (SAF Tehnika/USA), Martins Lacis (Latvijas Finieris),Ivars Slokenbergs (Slokenbergs PLLC/USA), Oskars Stucis (Karrikins Group/USA), Olavs Ritenis (Ventures International Group/Singapore), Karlis Vasarajs (Imtex Membranes/Canada), Pauls Miklesevics (BlueOrange), Aleksander Cakste (Massfluencer; LWC Properties/Sweden), Martins Tiknuss (Gateway & Partners), Martins Kengis (SKONTO PREFAB) and others.

According to Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins, WLEIF offers a unique essence of experience where Latvian business people from across the world meet in order to develop and support the business potential of our country, thus strengthening Latvia’s economy and competitiveness. “We must strive to create a business environment that is attractive to foreign investment and empowers entrepreneurs to become more competitive, productive and innovative”, said Karins.

Please note that the working language of the forum will be Latvian.

The forum is organized by the World Federation of Free Latvians, Valmiera City Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is co-hosted by AmCham, Association With Global Experience in Latvia, Gateway & Partners and The Red Jackets. The Baltic American Chamber of Commerce is a media partner of the event.

Tickets: for 2 days for EUR 90 +VAT. Ticket price includes participation in all events, including meals and transport Riga-Valmiera-Riga. Accommodation should be arranged independently.
