Tales from the Land of Unicorns in NYC

On Friday, April 14th, 2023 the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC), lending support in promoting the e-Estonia story across the Atlantic, met Estonian officials and startups in New York City.

The welcome speeches were delivered by Arvo Anton, Consul General of Estonia in New York and Honorary Director of BACC, and by Alvar Soosaar, Director of US Investment and Trade, Embassy of Estonia in Washington.

The keynote speaker, Sandra Särav, Deputy Secretary General for Business and Consumer Environment, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, shared Estonia’s secrets in leading the world on its digital path.

Estonian startups Clevon, Beamline Accelerator, Laavatech, Beast, GIG-A, PowerUP Technologies, Solid World, Coda, Reconeyez, SkySelect, and Pactum showcased their innovative solutions and connected with potential investors, customers, and partners in the US.

The event was hosted in the heart of Manhattan, across from Bryant Park, by Baker & McKenzie LLP.

The day event was followed by an Estonian Cultural Days opening reception at the Estonian House in New York City. BACC Board Member Elliot Matz, together with other BACC members, enjoyed exhibitions of the work of several noted Estonian artists; displays and sales of recent Estonian books; and previews of performances by several noted Estonian musicians who will be performing over the weekend. 

Friday evening's gathering was also attended by representatives of the other Baltic consulates.

Other events during the weekend will include several screenings, performances, tastings and meet-and-greets.
