Meeting with the Estonian VC and Tech Industry Delegation

On September 28th, 2022 the Baltic American Chamber of Commerce (BACC) representatives John Kissane, Partner at Watson Farley Williams, Peter Kirschenbaum​​, Of Counsel at Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer Baratz, and Inga Klimasauskiene, International Legal Consultant at Cox Padmore Skolnik & Shakarchy LLP met delegation of Estonian VC and PE investors visiting the US.

The delegation included Tera Ventures, Karma Ventures, Superangel, BaltCap, Verge Health Tech Fund, Change Ventures, Siena Secondary Fund, SmartCap, Trind Ventures, The Better Fund, Funderbeam, EstVCA team as well as selected private investors and key start-up ecosystem players.

Investors from Estonia presented co-investment opportunities and developed a network with US investors.

Estonian startup and tech ecosystem in a nutshell:

Estonia has the most unicorns per capita in the EU & second only to Israel in the world.

Estonia has 4.7x as many startups per capita as the European average, our ecosystem has been growing ca 30% annually during recent years.

Estonia was the world’s first digital country with 99% of all government services available online and essentially everyone using this digital infrastructure for commercial purposes as well. Each Estonian resident holds a unique ID card which is their master key to all digital services including online voting, signing legal documents remotely, filing tax returns and even opening a company. 

The event took place at Margot Samel Gallery in New York City, with presentation of Stephen Polatch’s first US solo exhibition, Swan-Road.
